Shawn Taylor
Co-Founder / Lead Investigator
Shawn Taylor, Co-Founder of
SuperNatural-Media, was born in Hampton Roads, Virginia and has a long history with the supernatural. As a youth he had several run-ins with ghosts, demons, and angels. Not to mention all the many unexplained phenomenon that stoked his interest into the field of paranormal investigations.
He began studies across a wide variety of spiritual belief systems. His pursuit for knowledge stretched him to examine both commonplace and less common doctrines. These included but were not limited to: Buddhism, Wiccan, Necromancy, the book of Kabala, and the Bible. Finally in 1992, Shawn had a
near death experience which changed his life forever. It opened his eyes to the reality of the afterlife, the relative nature of time, space and matter in existence. This single event sealed the deal on his soul for
Jesus Christ as his personal savior.
Today he hunts after the supernatural to bring to light the truth, which seems to have eluded science until now. With the
SuperNatural-Media team, Shawn brings to the table a
firsthand account of the afterlife. However, in this life he brings a technical background in computer hardware, software, programming, digital media, six sigma problem solving, statistical analysis, psychology, counseling and finally an insight for innovation.
Don't be fooled, it takes a lot to spook this guy. He won't easily believe something is 'paranormal' without first exhausting himself for a logical explanation. It is this insatiable need for answers that presses him to continue his explorations.
Dan Morgan
Co-Founder / Lead Investigator
Dan Morgan, Co-Founder of
SuperNatural-Media, was born in Galax, VA, and began his experiences with the supernatural at an early age. Dan's interest in the paranormal stems from those experiences, and a passionate curiosity as to the science of all things supernatural.
For years, Dan sought an answer to the origin of the supernatural, and in 1992 he accepted Christ and began to focus his search through his experience as a Christian. Dan's interest in science, has led him to an intense focus in quantum physics. After seeing similarities between
quantum phenomenon and the supernatural, he realized that there may be ways to study one through the other. He plans to continue to pursue his study and research in the field.
Dan's quiet leadership offers guidance to the team, but he is also endowed with the
ability to spirit walk; the ability some Sensitives have to be fully awake and yet step into the spirit realm and see what is happening on that level of existence.
Dan has degrees in behavioral science and electrical engineering, which he hopes to utilize to build better equipment for detection of paranormal phenomena.
Patrick Burke
Lead Investigator / Battle Field Historian
Patrick has been a student of the paranormal for 42 years, and an active investigator for more than 15. He is a
military history enthusiast, studying conflicts from every angle, reading the official battle reports of both sides, studying maps, and reviewing the diaries of soldiers. It is the story through the eyes of these participants that Patrick strives to capture on film or audio. He seeks to tell their stories, which may otherwise be lost to history.
Patrick's strong leadership skills guide the team on both a physical and spiritual level. Although his depth of historical knowledge is impressive, his keen understanding and awareness of the nonphysical world is remarkable. There have been occasions when his strength of faith have enabled him to banish evil and cross virtuous souls into the light of God's grace. When the whole team works together to accomplish a
cross-over, it is an incredible marvel to witness!
His easy smile and quick humor lend a level of comfort to the team. He is also a
Sensitive, which lends another dimension to his abilities.
He has written and been featured in countless articles and interviews in various media outlets, has appeared as a guest expert on TV, and has been a guest speaker at many paranormal workshops and conventions. Burke's second book,
Ghost Soldiers of Gettysburg, is considered a definitive must read for anyone that wants to learn more about the battle and the haunting of Gettysburg.
Dave Henderson
Lead Investigator / Student of Appalachian Mtn. Traditions
Dave got into the field of the paranormal, supernatural, strange, and just plain weird at a very young age. Ever since he could remember his grandmother took him to funerals and wakes with her, and this instilled him with a firm respect for those who have passed on. This, combined with his appetite for legends, lore, and mythology sealed his fate when it came to supernatural studies.
All through Dave's life he has collected books, articles, movies, and documentaries on the unexplained. It seemed odd to him that the science world could breakdown the structure of an atom, put someone on the moon, and build super computers, but no one could give concrete explanations for hauntings, strange creatures, or UFOs. So, what was once a hobby became a passion. After 15 years, he began to learn that it's less about finding the "answer" and more about helping those along the way, and the knowledge you gain in the process.
Sporting lots of tattoos and always an interesting T-shirt, Dave comes across as the strong, silent type. But, don't be fooled because Dave is also a talented sensitive on the team. He brings to the table a background in technology, strong research skills and a quiet sense of humor. His outside the box thinking and theories work well with the team.
Amy Buchanan
Investigator / Historian / Event Coordination
Although Amy's first paranormal experience was in 1983 after her grandfather passed away, she has dealt with the paranormal since she was a young child. She has an identical twin sister who also loves the paranormal field. Amy's family does
Civil War reenactments with a local historical society, and she often dresses in period clothing, as she finds that being in civil war era attire encourages many paranormal experiences.
Amy brings to
SuperNatural-Media her strong sense of history and respect for the sacrifices made on battlefields. She also embodies a lightheartedness and a sense of fun that enhances every encounter with her. Her interpersonal skills make her an invaluable Investigations Coordinator for the team.
Born in Richmond, VA., Amy is Southern Baptist who grew up in Stuarts Draft, VA. She has a loving husband and a 20 year old son.
Emily Burke
Investigator / Zero Point Field Medium
Emily has been in training since the age of nine with her dad, Patrick. She has learned to use her abilities to embrace contact with all forms of energy and spirits. Emily has become
one of the leading Sensitives when it comes to stepping into and using the energy in the
Zero Point Field (ZPF). The shields she uses to protect herself and others are unique and powerful, especially when dealing with negative energy.
Emily's accuracy is amazing when communicating with Ghost Soldiers, or other spirits. She not only sees the spirits, but has a full conversation when making contact, which helps if a crossing over process begins. Many souls/spirits have a fear of crossing over. but Emily learned this early on in her training, and she strives to let the spirits know she is there to help.
Emily is now in her junior year of college as a Political Science major with a minor in Art History.
Shannon Burke
Investigator / Empath
Shannon is Patrick's youngest daughter, who started her training as a paranormal investigator at the age of ten. On her first battlefield investigation at Antietam, Shannon discovered she was an
empath. Her ability to feel the energies and the emotions they experienced is amazing, and often her emotions run high. During an investigation of the West Woods in Gettysburg, she began to cry uncontrollably. Her Dad tried joking with her to help calm her down by saying,
"There's no crying on battlefields!"During the walk back to the car where her Mom was waiting, Shannon explained what happened. She was overwhelmed with the emotions and fears of the soldiers who died or were wounded here, and it just made her so sad. Shannon soon began to learn ways to control these emotions so she wouldn't constantly be overwhelmed. She has learned to do that by stepping into the ZPF and shielding herself. At this point, Shannon can occasional open herself up to seeing spirits or hearing voices.
Shannon is a senior in high school, currently considering her options for college.

Kim Payne

Kim was born in a small town outside Pittsburgh, PA, but she grew up in FL and VA. Her first experience with the supernatural took place when she was a child. Throughout her life, she has studied and learned as much as she could about the paranormal. There have been times in her life when she felt as if she was aware of an event happening somewhere else, and in many cases she was right. Kim brings to the team a strong energy and her sharp investigative skills.
Shelly Taylor
Investigator / Event Coordination
The team lovingly refers to Shelly as a professional vampire because she draws blood as a
phlebotomist at the local hospital in Giles County Virginia.Shelly's gentle manner and quick wit give her the ideal set of skills to
put people at ease, whether she is drawing blood or investigating paranormal phenomena.
Even as a child, Shelly can remember being intrigued by the paranormal. That childhood curiosity has grown to fuel her search to pursue the paranormal.
Shelly is Shawn's wife and best friend for over 20 years. Together, Shawn and Shelly have two boys and a dog nestled in the mountains of Virginia. Shelly spends most of her spare time with the family and
writing devotionals online.
Jean Burke

Our priority when we perform any investigation is to be professional and thorough. As a result it may take a very long time to review evidence and present it to the public. It also means that un- professional comments, activities and the like will be deleted from the various web sites. Again the goal is to understand and grow using respectable methods. Not that we will not entertain some good wholesome fun, but there is a difference between professionalism, constructive criticism, objective correction and negative, demining attacks, or even negative retorts against another viewers sincere point of view. This serves only to disturb the process rather than encourage it. None of us, you included, knows everything and mistakes can be and will be made, ah the humanity. People can make ambiguous statements or misguided comments which are all, naturally expected, and are a part of the process.
SuperNatural Media does not charge for investigations. Though our drive is to better understand paranormal activity we also know that people may need help, and we all agree, we will do whatever we can in those cases. Sometimes a situation can be explained by factors in the environment that if changed will remedy the situation all together. On the other hand, sadly, the situation may even be a physical or mental illness being interpreted as something more or less than it really is. It's a touchy subject but as a team we will help in whatever capacity we can whether directly or indirectly. We also know that there are folks that are seeking attention and/or fame in any way they can get it. We hope to expose that so others will not be fooled. We also understand that there are locations which have been deemed 'haunted' and may be completely happy or content with that and may even charge to have investigations performed.
